What science ideas did you learn?

I learned that light needs to bounce off an object and into your eyes, for you to see things. Because of this, when you enter a dark room with no light you are blinded, you can't see anything. I also learned that there is an invisable line that we can't see, coming from the laser pointer. The only way we are able to see it, is when the light bounces of particles, such as dust and flour. When this happens we are able to see the light coming from the laser.

How did you learn these ideas?

I learned these ideas by experimenting and discussing with our class about our hypothesis. I also learned from my own observattions, and my classmate's. For example, my partners and I clapped erasers filled with chalk and dust particles, around the laser. Once this happened we were able to see the light beam, coming from the laser. This happens beacuse the light beam bounces of the particles of dust and flour and reflects into our eyes, allowing us to see the laser light.

Why is it important to know this idea?

It is important to know these ideas about light and our eyes beacuse if anything happens to us, involving our eyes, such as a disease or injury we could become blind. It is also important to know about our bodies, and how our systems work. We should be able to know when we can, and can't see, like when a room is completely dark, you would not be able to read or see a sign on a wall.
