MOTION!!

What science ideas did you learn?

This week we learned a lot more about motion We made more graphs and functions. We also learned about motion diagrams. This week we did a partner quiz and went over homework during most of our class time.

How did you learn these ideas?

We discussed, experimented, and tested. This week we did a lot of group activities with our table members!

Why is it important to know this idea?

It is important to know about motion and graphs and everything else we are learning because we will need to understand these concepts later on in our lifetime. We also have a test next week!!

More Motion

What science ideas did you learn?

This week we learned a lot more about functions! We learned how to find the speed or slope of something. You take the two positions of an object, x1, is the starting point and x2 is the ending point. Then you take the time of the object, t1, is the object's starting time and t2 is the objects ending time! Now you subtract x2-x1= position, and then t2-t1=time! You then divide the position/time, after you do the subtracting. This equals the object's speed/slope! We learned about trend lines as well. We learned that a trend line is a straight line that sort of passes by each point on a graph. This trend line must be straight!! And the trend line can not be broken up so that the line touches each point. The reason a trend line does not got through all of the dots on a graph is because of the uncertainty.

How did you learn these ideas?

Worksheets and homework mostly. We were given homework and then we would mostly discuss it the next day, and go into further detail. And of course we asked questions and discussed the homework and worksheets as well.

Why is it important to know this idea?

It is important to know all of these ideas because we need to understand the speed and slope of the graphs we are working with. We should be able to understand and create graphs. We also need to know what a trend line is and how to make one. If we were asked to create a trend line and we weren't sure what it was then we would fail!!!!!!!! We also need to be familiar with functions! We use functions in both math and science and they are very important to understand!
